Holy crap! Amazing passing leads to a great goal.
If it’s not too late for a Friday Flashback, let me take you down to Mexico and introduce you to Jose Cardozo, who finished off the greatest combination of passes I have ever seen. Cardozo was playing for Mexican club Toluca in 2003 when they played powerhouses América.
This game was a thrashing in Toluca’s favour, but Cardozo’s finish to make it 5-nil capped off the most stunning passing sequence I have ever seen to date. Why’s this called the beautiful game again? Oh right. (a great find by our Italy-based writer Mirko Corli)
Ahhh when Cardozo was with Toluca….he was a beast, a monster. I hated him. It sucked to not have this guy on your team but at the end of the day you had to recognize he was a genius.
